MARINA 101
The Association of Marina Industries is offering our Marina 101 course, October 27, 2019, in West Palm Beach, Florida. This 4-hour marina industry introduction course is geared towards those individuals, with little or no marina experience, looking to get into the industry by way of an advancement opportunity, career shift, or an interest in purchasing or developing a marina.
The Marina 101 course is made up of 9 individual presentations, created and presented by Carl F. Wolf, CMM CMI. The presentations will give you an insight of the various aspects in the operations of a marina. Presentations include day-to-day and seasonal operations, maintenance, emergency preparedness, long-term planning, financial reports, and the various roles of a marina manager.
The Marina 101 course dovetails into the Marina & Boatyard Study Tour allowing attendees to take what they learned in the classroom and see it in action touring facilities. Register here.
MARINA & BOATYARD STUDY TOUR
The Association of Marina Industries is offering a two day Marina & Boatyard Study Tour, October 28-29, 2019 in West Palm Beach, Florida. This is a two day mobile training course that takes participants on exclusive tours of marinas to provide an in-depth look at the operations of different types of facilities in the West Palm Beach area. At the end of each day, attendees participate in a facilitated round-table discussion and SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis of each marina. The 10th edition of the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (MEBC) has wrapped up at the Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) and it gives a compelling look at the future of electric boating.
The MEBC was started in 2014 as a competition between university teams who built and raced boats powered only by solar power and batteries. To encourage more participation from institutions that may not have naval architecture or boat construction expertise, the YCM introduced the Energy Class competition. The club supplies the student teams with the same one-design catamaran hull, and each team adds their own cockpit and propulsion system that can be powered by any renewable alternative energy sources, not just solar.

Torqeedo announces new structure and names business unit management
