NAMS announces dates of 60th Annual National Conference

The National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS), renowned organization of certified, qualified marine surveyors across the country, has announced the dates for its 60th Annual National Conference. The event will take place February 26-28, 2023, at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 601 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California.

The event kicks off with a welcome reception and happy hour, followed by a full schedule of dynamic seminars and educational sessions for members and non-members on topics including Challenge of Hybrid Technologies, Hydrogen Battery Technology, Insurance Essentials for Surveyors and Surveyors and Client Agency Relationships. Robert Paine of New England Marine Surveyors will present Surveying Metal Boats, and for those interested in commercial topics, William Duval will present a forum discussion on Issues Encountered during Discharge, Damage and Loss Prevention Surveys and Dennis Cammarano of Cammarano Law Group will discuss Cargo Surveying: The Old and The New, The Tried and The True. NAMS-certified marine surveyors in attendance will receive twelve general continuing education credits for attending the two-day conference. To be eligible for these credits, attendees will need to sign in both days. Early registration is open for members for $495 USD and non-members for $545 USD through January 7, after which the registration fee for members will be $545 USD and non-members $595 USD. The 2024 Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held by the National Marine Electronics Association, (NMEA) took place September 16 to the 20th in Providence, Rhode Island. Boating Industry Canada was there for the first time and we were very impressed with what we found.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
