Quadrant Marine Institute announces new courses in Inclusive Workplaces & Effective Mentorship

Inclusive Workplaces and Effective Mentorship Programs

May 29, 2023

A master tradesperson will learn until the day they put down their tools. The reality of the Marine Service Industry is that our workbench will always see new equipment, products, and tools. Our workplaces will also see new people, and at Quadrant Marine we want to make sure you have the tools to retain, and onboard new employees!

This summer we’ll be running two courses to help local businesses with just that. Inclusive Workplaces (R-E-S-P-E-C-T), and Being an Effective Mentor at Work lead by leadership expert Patience Cox, are designed to bring out the best in your workforce.

In “Inclusive Workplaces (R-E-S-P-E-C-T)”, June 6th & 14th, 12:00-1:30pm, you will have the chance to explore which behaviours demonstrate an inclusive and respectful workplace. Discover how to assess your own team, and identify areas and tools for improvement. And identify business benefits from investing in inclusive practices

In “Being an Effective Mentor at Work”, July 12th, 3:00-4:30pm, you will learn to demonstrate mentorship skills with confidence. Identify the qualities of an effective mentor, and use tools and techniques that improve mentorship. Because whether you are a supervisor or a co-worker, helping others thrive at work is an essential skill.

Recognizing that these management skills are tools like any other, that need sharpening, honing, and the proper care to use over and over again, is that first step in taking your workplace to the next level. And for our PEP Mentors we’re happy to provide these two courses free of charge, because at the end of the day investing in the future of the Marine Service Industry is what we’re about!

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
