The West Coast Boatyard Association hosting NMEA training March 29 to April 1, 2022

West Coast Boatyard Association is hosting 4 days of in-person NMEA training from March 29 to April 1, 2022  in Sidney BC.

• Basic Marine Electronics Installer – March 29
• Basic NMEA 2000 Installer – March 30
• Advanced Marine Electronics Installer – March 31
• Advanced NMEA 2000 Installer – April 1

Location:  Sidney Pier Hotel, Sidney BC

These certification courses teach the industry standards for installing marine electronics and networks.  A working knowledge of these standards is fundamental to successful electronics installations, and in many cases proof of training is required by OEM manufacturers before being authorized to purchase and install their equipment.

WCBA members qualify for a discounted price on the training, and prices are in Canadian dollars

Duncan Peacock, resident of Kitimat BC and member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63, has been awarded the 12th annual Tim Jones Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Outdoor Community in British Columbia.

Peacock has been a member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63 for 31 years, making him one of the longest-serving members in the province.
