A new generation of adventure boat has arrived

Tactical Custom Boats Adventure 44

Dec 6, 2021

On November 30th, B.C.-based Tactical Custom Boats launched its next generation model, the Adventure-44. This all-weather aluminum boat is designed to be used year-round in all seasons and all sea conditions. It is a capable cruiser, aggressive sports fisher, an entertainer, and a relaxation machine.

Powered with triple COX 300 HP diesel outboard motors delivering a combined 1,470 ft. lbs of torque, this vessel cruises comfortably at 30 knots. The fuel tanks carry 670 US gallons of diesel. The boat is built to go fast in rough waters and to go further, with fewer fuel stops.

The boat’s toughness and durability are further emphasized by its hull structure built with ¼” 5083 aluminum and designed with framework and support ribbing surpassing American and Canadian Navy standards. This new Tactical does not have a single piece of wood in any form anywhere in the vessel. By eliminating all wood from the vessel’s construction, it has made for a long lifespan that will not deteriorate over time from humidity or moisture. Décor has not been compromised; a strong combination of cutting-edge textures and surfaces gives the interior a yacht-like feel.
Tim Charles, owner of Tactical Custom Boats, says, “The goal was not to be the fastest boat in its class/size range but rather, the most capable and comfortable cruiser in its class. The Adventure 44 model is equipped to tackle all seasons and all the adventures you can throw at it. It has been designed and engineered to be a very versatile boat while focusing on comfort and safety.”
Time to Cruise: The Greg Marshall designed all-aluminum vessel is coated with closed cell foam for insulation and sound deadening to improve ride quality. A pair of large 17” Garmin navigation screens keeps the driver on course while displaying all vital vessel information with viewing ease. The comfortable ride quality of the A-44 is improved with a pair of Shockwave pneumatic seats that help to hold riders firmly in position on those not so pleasant days. The onboard diesel heater provides all the warmth needed for winter cruising or crisp morning getaways. Open the powered sunroof, raise the aft bulkhead window, and slide open the port and starboard cabin windows and everyone will experience all the fresh air the ocean has to offer.

Time to Fish: The versatility of the aft deck allows for the space and openness to move around while staying in control with an aft helm station including a chart plotter and sonar for finding the best fishing locations. Equipped with performance down-riggers, fish prep and cleaning table, multiple rod holders, fish cooler, and custom gear storage drawers, the Tactical A-44 is prepared for the big catch.

Time to Eat: Food is an important part of any boat cruise, and the galley caters to the needs of even the most discriminating foodie. The open concept layout and design of the Tactical A-44 offers ample counterspace and room to move. With an open bulkhead window and no view-blocking mullions there is flow-through to keep guests connected through the main level of the boat. A diesel-powered convection stove top, convection microwave, stainless refrigerator and freezer drawers, and ample storage and pantry space gives the cook all the tools needed. A propane powered stainless grill is easily accessible in the stern with the fish table doubling as a large counter working space. Guests can enjoy indoor or outdoor eating at either of the two high gloss DI-NOC teak dining tables.

Time to Play: With plenty of underdeck storage and a dedicated roof rack system, it is possible to carry a fleet of water toys such as kayaks, paddleboats, inflatable tender, bikes, and more. Included is a submersible drone submarine and Mavic Pro Air drone that can be plugged into the 42” LED television in the salon. The TV is 180 degrees reversable so you can watch from both inside or outside the boat. The swim ladder on the stern offers a safe return for swimmers while structurally installed swim step cleats make it possible to add a bridle to tow water toys.

Time to Relax: A powered sunshade in the aft cockpit provides protection on hot days or reduces water reflection for watching TV on the back deck. The boat is equipped with a KVH direct satellite system. A pair of reclining sun-pads on the bow allows for unrestricted visibility and relaxation. Indirect warm white rope lighting throughout the interior and exterior of the boat sets the perfect ambience and mood. Convert the cabin dinette into a lounge pad and watch the stars through the fully motorized oversize sunroof.

Time to Sleep: With the ability to customize sleeping accommodations, this model of the A-44 has a queen size private berth with space on both sides for easy accessibility. Two skylights add light and fresh air. Two twin-size berths that can be used for sleeping or storage fit discretely across from the full-size head.

Tactical Custom Boats has sold three new A-44 models with production starting immediately. All buyers are from North America. Boats are semi-custom in that the hull and superstructure is constant while the interiors and bells and whistles can be customized to suit the needs of the boat owner. The A-44 model “Tank” is a standard model and has a base price of $1,495,000 CDN.
