Apr 6, 2021Resetting the bar for boats in its class, the new Cruisers Yachts 42 GLS is loaded with refined amenities that make for a distinctive onboard experience. One such feature is the standard Webasto Series 80 Marine Sunroof. At the touch of a button, the composite panel glides back to expand upon the vessel's spacious and airy feel, and provide substantial ventilation and natural light.
Integrated into the hardtop of the 42 GLS, the Webasto Series 80 Marine Sunroof has a sleek appearance from above and below. Fully tested and assembled for drop-in installation by Cruisers Yachts, it's 100% watertight. The sunroof is powered by a robust, yet quiet, 12V DC automotive-style mechanism controlled conveniently from the helm.
All Series 80 Marine Sunroofs are engineered to accommodate very large openings and dimensions. Each is custom-built for a specific vessel, both in size and panel material. Cruisers Yachts chose a fiberglass version to complement the roofline of the 42 GLS. Webasto also offers glass and double curved solutions for the Series 80.
"Combined with the full windshield on the 42 GLS, there's a definite 'wow' factor when the sunroof is open," said Matt VanGrunsven, director of marketing for KCS International, Inc. "We've had very good success with Webasto sunroofs; they're very reliable. We use them on our 60 Fly, and 54, 50 and 42 Cantius models." Oconto, Wisconsin-based KCS International, Inc. is the parent company of Cruisers Yachts, Cruisers Sport Series and Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts.
The stylish 42 GLS is Cruisers Yachts' latest model. Powered by triple 400 hp outboards, it's an ideal day cruiser with comfortable overnight accommodations. Notable features are its dual beach doors, port-side deck galley with raised wet bar and an opulent bow seating area.
