BOATING ONTARIO IS VERY SADDENED TO ANNOUNCE THE LOSS OF DON LAMB

Don Lamb

Dec 5, 2017

Don was the president of Legal Support Services and a long-standing member of the Boating Ontario Association. He had a passion for his business and shared that passion with all members he worked with. Don will be missed dearly.

With deep sadness, Don’s family announced his passing on Tuesday November 28, 2017 in his 61 year after a prolonged battle with Diabetes and Kidney Disease.
He leaves behind to mourn his loving partner Jackie Curran, children Julie and Jeffrey (their mother Mary), brother David (Teresa Tsuji) and sisters Debra (Rebecca Hunter) and Donna Cockburn (Dirk). Predeceased by his father Alvin (2000) and brother Brian (1960).

Born April 30, 1956 in Burk’s Falls, Ontario he grew up in the hockey arenas of Winnipeg, Moose Jaw and Toronto playing the game he loved and excelled at. He spent many summers at Hockey Opportunity Camp on Eagle Lake as an instructor and then as hockey director. After his playing days, he refereed in the OHL. Don had a varied career first as an RCMP officer in northern Alberta then in the financial world with the Beneficial Finance Company. He spent the last several years running his own business (Legal Support Services) as a paralegal in London, Ontario.

We will miss his sense of humour, kindness, story-telling and his Facebook rants.

Family received visitors at Chalmers United Church, 131 Ottawa Avenue in South River, Ontario on Sunday December 3, 2017. A service to celebrate the life of the late Don Lambfollowed in the church. Reverend Susan Peverley officiated.

Spring interment at the Bow’s Cemetery in Machar Township.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home – Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge.

If desired, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

Boating Ontario will be making a donation to the Kidney Foundation and encourages members whose businesses had the opportunity to work with Don to do the same if they so choose.

We send our sincere condolences to his partner Jackie and his family. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

NMEA

The 2024 Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held by the National Marine Electronics Association, (NMEA) took place September 16 to the 20th in Providence, Rhode Island. Boating Industry Canada was there for the first time and we were very impressed with what we found.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
