THE INDUSTRY MOURNS THE PASSING OF WILLIAM (BILL) PROVIS

Bill Provis

Dec 5, 2017

We recently learned from yacht broker Rene Blanchet that William (Bill) Provis had passed away.

His eldest son James and Bill’s wife Barbara sent these words and photo to Rene; “I would like to thank you for doing this for him. I know that he touched many lives in his own way and was well respected in his field. He often spoke of you with fondness and appreciated the professional relationship you both shared over the years. I think you knew of his history dating back into the 1980’s with Argosy Marine Repairs, and later Harris Harding and Bickers, McClaren and Topliss, and Granite Claims to name but a few. It didn’t matter where he went over the years, he had a great following in the industry and his prior clients would always find him. That loyalty spoke volumes to the level of Professionalism that he demonstrated.

I suppose even working right up until his illness is a testament to the fact that he loved what he did. There’s an old saying “Find a Job you Love, and never work a day in your life” – That pretty much summed him up.”

Services were held November 18, 2017.
