Avikus Marks Milestone in Autonomous Vessel Operation With Launch of NEUBOAT Control

February 17, 2026

Avikus, HD Hyundai’s specialized Autonomous Navigation Technology subsidiary, has announced the launch of the next evolution in its NEUBOAT autonomous vessel system, NEUBOAT Control.

NEUBOAT Control enables the vessel autonomy features of Avikus’ award-winning autonomous vessel systems such as NEUBOAT Dock and NEUBOAT Navi, and provides the interface required for smart navigation and auto-docking features. NEUBOAT Control’s SMART AUTOPILOT and SMART DOCKING make every maneuver smooth and effortless. With its ability to seamlessly integrate with existing systems and user-friendly interface, NEUBOAT Control ensures a comprehensive and cohesive boating experience, enhancing safety, efficiency, and enjoyment on the water.

“We’re very excited to launch NEUBOAT Control, marking the next step in autonomous vessel control and safety,” said Do-Hyeong Lim, CEO of Avikus. “This system is the culmination of years of engineering and testing within the NEUBOAT technologies. And we’re confident that boaters will feel safer on the water in all scenarios from busy waterways to docking with the help of NEUBOAT Control.”

As the world’s first semi-autonomous docking system for recreational boats, Avikus NEUBOAT Control works in tandem with NEUBOAT Dock on a joystick-equipped vessel to create a sensor-based docking space. Once a user selects a docking method — bow, stern, port or starboard — and begins the docking process, the system automatically calculates distance and environmental-force factors to quickly and safely dock the vessel.

Similarly, Avikus’ SMART AUTOPILOT system uses NEUBOAT Control to create a sensor-based object recognition map while underway, to offer an adaptive cruise control, real-time collision avoidance while following a set path.

NEUBOAT Control and the corresponding NEUBOAT systems are available for OEM applications or certified dealer refits.
