BARRACUDA 6 – SMALL, YET PLENTY OF SPACE!

Barracuda 6

Aug 1, 2017

The Barracuda 6 is the most recent addition to the Beneteau range and she has inherited the sporty temperament of her elder sisters. With fittings tested in the recent Barracuda Tour, she marries speed, stability and top class equipment to perfection. Ready to launch this autumn, she will be shown at the boat shows of La Rochelle, Southampton and in Scandinavia, where the range has met with resounding success.

Building on the experience of the Barracuda Tour, a no-kill sport fishing competition, organized by Beneteau every year, the Barracuda 6 powerfully champions the identity of this incredibly dynamic range, which has found a public among keen fishers and coast al cruisers, since it was created in 2011.

Although her 5.52 metres make the Barracuda 6 the smallest of the range, she still has everything you need to catch fish. Keen fishers will find the large cockpit with built-in fishing station and live bait well particularly appealing. A large starboard walkway affords easy access to the bow where there is a second comfortable fishing spot. Two side bench seats can be added to the removable bench aft of the cockpit, offering greater comfort to the crew underway or at anchor, while providing plenty of open space for fishing.

Whether the programme is fishing or cruising, everyone will love the clever fittings on the Barracuda 6, as well as the wide choice of options. The basic version can be equipped with canvas closing off the pilothouse from the cockpit, on option, while the more comfortable version has two sliding doors. There is a similar choice between ordinary seats and bolster seats. Independent of the chosen layout, the Barracuda 6 has a huge completely closed-off stowage area that converts to a temporary berth, with a marine toilet possible on option – unheard of on an outboard boat of this size!

For a style indoors that doesn’t go out of fashion, and easy maintenance, anthracite is the dominant colour.

Built on the latest generation of outboard engine hulls developed by Beneteau, the Barracuda 6 safely cuts through waves. Quick to plane, she remains remarkably stable underway. The Barracuda 6 comes with a choice of three different engine types – 90, 115 and 140 hp – matching the power needed for whatever the intended programme and stretch of water.

Sporty, agile and robust, the last of the range has lots of appeal and should quickly take off.
