Multiple choices mean hinges for any application

Beckson Hinges

May 28, 2024

Boats often have hatches, cabinets, doors, covers and other components that make finding suitable replacement hinges difficult, especially when uneven surfaces are involved. Available in standard and offset configurations, Beckson Marine’s range of premium plastic hinges with interchangeable parts provides owners with the ability to create the perfect hinge for any application.

Beckson hinges are built to last using lightweight, injection-molded Delrin® with durable Monel® pins for long service life. Unlike metal, they won’t rust or stick when corrosion sets in.

The Full Opening Hinge is offered in lengths of 1-3/4″, 3″, 4″ and 6″, and uses a single pin to open 180°. This enables the hinge to rest flat when folded, making it ideal for hatch covers and lazarettes.

Beckson’s Offset Hinge comes in lengths of 2-1/4″, 3-1/2″, 4-7/16″ and 6-7/16″. Its two pins with a center connector provide a wider opening gap to accommodate off-level mounting and 270° operation.

Interchangeable parts and a common 1-1/2″ width allow users to easily create custom configurations of Full Opening and/or Offset Hinges by linking sides of differing lengths. Sold in a choice of white or black finishes, OEM custom colors are available on request. Visit www.beckson.com.

The NMMA Canada Board of Directors were organized into teams with business interests and special skills matched up to politicians and senior bureaucrats to most effectively present the marine industry’s agenda of issues.

Compass works when electronics don’t

Hubbell-Marine Stainless steel outlet covers

Even in the event of an onboard power failure, a Ritchie Navigation SuperSport Helmsman SS-1002 magnetic compass still works. Plus, when the vessel is moving slowly in fog or while trolling, it can do something a GPS can’t: show the actual heading in real time. As a back-up to modern electronics, it’s a vital navigational tool that belongs on every commercial and recreational boat.
