DOCKMATE ANNOUNCES NEXT-GENERATION WIRELESS DOCKING SYSTEM

Dockmate Wireless Docking System

Feb 19, 2019

Dockmate, manufacturer of advanced wireless remote controls for yachts, announced today enhanced functionality for its state-of-the art Dockmate solution. Greatly expanding the capability and compatibility of its wireless remote-control system, Dockmate now supports an unparalleled number of accessories and offers an unprecedented level of customization.

A truly intuitive system, Dockmate allows boaters to easily operate electronically controlled engines, bow and stern thrusters, anchor winches and horns from anywhere on board with a small handheld device. Available in four models: Single, Twin, Twist 3-axis joystick with proportional control, and Twist IPS for POD drives such as the Volvo IPS, the system features state-of-the-art “fail safe” technology and breakthrough advancements that increase product reliability as well as operating range without the need for additional hardware.

A pocket-sized extension of a boat’s controls, Dockmate can mimic a compatible accessory’s response time and feel for a seamless user experience or be customized to meet the specific preferences of individual boaters. Using the included software, installers can make adjustments to throttle, to ensure improved response time and boat handling to meet challenging docking conditions, such as high winds or strong currents.

“As yachtsmen with over 40 years of experience, we had searched for an affordable wireless remote-control system that would simplify the oftentimes difficult and stressful docking experience,” said Brian Sheehan, Dockmate U.S. spokesperson. “After many years of building prototypes and extensive testing, we have developed a system that is highly-reliable, intuitive and most of all, affordable. With our enhanced remote controls boaters can move around any vessel for better visibility when maneuvering and enjoy complete confidence in even the tightest of waterways.”

Each Dockmate system includes a rugged wireless, handheld transmitter with an easy-grip rubber finish, lanyard and wireless charger, as well as a plug-and-play receiver compatible with most brands of engines and thrusters. The powerful, waterproof, floating transmitter’s two-way communication ensures faultless operation with a five-channel Frequency Hopping Spectrum System (FHSS), which is a wireless technology that spreads a signal over rapidly changing frequencies for uninterruptible transmissions.

The device now has an enhanced range of 150 feet (50 meters) and offers users visual and audible confirmation on the receiver’s status. The transmitter will automatically shut down after 30 minutes of non-use to optimize the performance of its built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery. The compact Dockmate receiver measures 8.75 x 8.75 x 2.5-inches, allowing for discrete installation, is compatible with both 12- and 24-volt systems with power redundancy for added safety, and sports a modular construction for quick customization and installation of additional control modules.

Backed by an industry-leading three-year manufacturer’s warranty, a five-function Dockmate system (two engines, thruster, anchor and horn) has an American retail price of $6,800 USD. For more information please visit www.dockmate.us.
