Furuno’s latest NavNet TZtouchXL v25 software update delivers powerful new capabilities, including full integration with the CSH10 360° Omni Sonar, allowing real-time sonar echoes to overlay directly on the Plotter screen for unmatched situational awareness. This update also introduces Dynamic Mooring, which enhances anchoring and docking, as well as TZ Weather, providing advanced forecasting tools for safer navigation. Alongside a range of user interface improvements and enhanced search functions, version 25 makes TZtouchXL smarter, more intuitive, and more powerful than ever before. With an active Internet connection, the software update can be performed directly from the MFD, making upgrading your system simple.

CSH10 Sonar Overlay

Furuno’s CSH10 360° Omni Sonar is now fully compatible with NavNet TZtouchXL through the latest v25 software update, allowing seamless integration via LAN. Once connected, the CSH10 is recognized as a native sensor, automatically unlocking a dedicated Sonar display on the MFD. Users can easily control CSH10 settings, adjust key parameters like range, tilt, and gain, monitor system status, and create event marks to track important underwater targets.

A standout feature of this integration is Sonar Overlay, which displays real-time sonar echoes directly on your chart. Real-time Sonar echoes are displayed directly on the chart, allowing captains to see fish targets in relation to charted objects, structure, and underwater topography. This means that instead of viewing Sonar data separately, anglers can overlay it onto their navigational or fishing charts, providing a comprehensive, at-a-glance understanding of where fish are located relative to wrecks, reefs, drop-offs, and other key underwater features. Additionally, there’s the ability to split the screen to have dual-range Sonar displays on the TZtouchXL display. This enhanced situational awareness helps captains make more informed decisions when fishing or navigating complex environments.

Dynamic Mooring

Furuno’s latest innovation in marine navigation, Dynamic Mooring, revolutionizes the way boaters select safe anchorages by integrating real-time weather forecasts with TZ MAPS advanced mapping technology. With just a date selection and the current weather forecast downloaded, the system automatically analyzes the coming wind conditions and topography to provide a clear, color-coded mooring status: green for protected, orange for partially protected, and red for exposed. These mooring locations are extracted from high-resolution vector maps and enhanced by contributions from the TIMEZERO “Community Maps” network, ensuring an up-to-date and comprehensive anchorage database.

Seamlessly accessible through the Overlays section of the Edge Swipe Up Menu, Dynamic Mooring empowers captains with instant, on-screen visualization of safe mooring options. Zooming in under a mile reveals additional details, such as wind direction arrows that indicate changes throughout the selected mooring period. If the anchorage is near shore, a solid rounded line highlights the sheltered sector. The system also includes an interactive legend, allowing users to fine-tune their anchorage plans by selecting precise date and time intervals. With Dynamic Mooring, Furuno continues to set the standard in marine innovation, delivering intelligent navigation solutions that enhance safety and confidence on the water.

Dynamic Mooring helps to ensure precise vessel positioning with crowd-sourced data and captain-rated reliability, even in changing sea conditions

Forecasting with TZ Weather

TZtouchXL v25 introduces a powerful new weather service called TZ Weather, delivering enhanced situational awareness and forecasting for mariners worldwide. The free TZ Weather service delivers global and regional weather predictions from NOAA’s Global Forecast System (GFS) for any area you determine. There is also a premium subscription service, available for only $10/month, that provides the ability to download higher-resolution data from a number of global models, including ICON, NAM CONUS, Arpège, and AROME. Accessing these services requires a My TIMEZERO account, and the system can be set up to download the latest weather immediately on startup. Users can subscribe to TZ Weather via their My TIMEZERO account or directly from the TZtouchXL MFD.

TZ Weather offers detailed and localized forecasts, allowing users to select forecast duration, resolution, and data models tailored to their needs. The redesigned Weather Timeline & Layers interface makes it easier to view and interact with forecasts, while animated particles, wind barbs, and color shading provide an intuitive representation of changing conditions. Additional tools such as Meteograms and customizable presets help mariners pinpoint the best departure times and assess evolving weather patterns at specific locations. With automatic downloads, SiriusXM Weather integration, and customizable display settings, Furuno’s latest weather enhancements ensure that captains have the most accurate, real-time data at their fingertips, delivering unmatched confidence and safety on the water.

Stay ahead of the storm with TZ Weather’s real-time forecasts and high-resolution weather overlays

Points Filter and more

The new Points Filter in TZtouchXL version 25 allows captains to refine their search for saved waypoints with greater precision. By applying filters based on criteria such as date, type, or custom tags, captains can quickly declutter their chart plotter screens to locate key navigation points, making route planning and fishing spot management more efficient than ever.

These are just some of the features found in the new TZtouchXL version 25 software. With this update, which can be performed directly from the MFD with just an Internet connection, Furuno continues to push the boundaries of marine technology, delivering cutting-edge tools that enhance safety, efficiency, and the overall on-the-water experience.
