100A boat with a 50A pedestal? No problem

Hubbell YQ100 Plus

Apr 30, 2024

Not all marinas offer the 100A dockside electricity that modern yachts are increasingly running on. Thankfully, the YQ100PLUS Intelligent Y Adapter from Hubbell Marine provides the solution for cruisers faced with a twin or single 50A shore power pedestal.

The Intelligent Y Adapter uses internal logic circuitry to enable a single 100A, 125/250V AC shore power cable to safely connect to two 50A, 125/250V dockside receptacles. The adapter can also be used to power the yacht’s 100A system even if only one 50A, 125/250V receptacle is available.

Incredibly safe, the YQ100PLUS Intelligent Y Adapter automatically monitors for incorrectly wired hot or neutral leads within the power pedestal. Integrated LEDs confirm correct polarity and safe operation. This technology also determines whether both dockside plugs are engaged; if not, an internal 3-pole contactor breaks both hot and neutral circuits to guard against the possibility of a live, unconnected plug.

Encased in a durable, lightweight UV- and impact-resistant housing, interference from harsh marine conditions, such as humidity, rain and salt spray, is eliminated. The high-visibility yellow adapter has a premium Hubbell 100A female connector and two fully molded 50A male plug ends. The Hubbell Marine YQ100PLUS Intelligent Y Adapter has an MSRP of $6,183 USD.
