Seam Sealer Fights Fabric Leaks

IOSSO Seam Sealer

Mar 19, 2024

Whether it’s a simple cotton or a modern synthetic, seams are often the weakness in waterproofing. Exposed to UV rays, wind and extensive use, even the most well-constructed gear can leak at stitch points. Seam Sealer from Iosso Products creates an invisible barrier at these stress points to keep water out, without changing the look or feel of the textile.

Seam Sealer prevents leaks in cotton, cotton blend, polyester and synthetic woven fabrics. With the correct seam construction, it’s even effective on vinyl-coated and vinyl laminate materials. This specific benefit makes it broadly ideal for boat covers, awnings, cushions and even patio umbrellas. Seam Sealer provides protection that doesn’t stiffen fabric or alter its color.

Seam Sealer’s sponge applicator tip runs along both sides of the stitching until the thread is thoroughly saturated. After drying 24 hours, the supple fabric is now invisibly protected, without any residue or silicone. After washing or extended use, a touch-up coating can be reapplied. A 4-ounce dabber will treat 50′ of seam and costs US$8.52. Available in chandleries.
