Mercury Marine Unveils Integrated Suite of Digital and Control Innovations, Redefining the Future of Boating

February 17, 2026

Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), has announced the launch of a new generation of digital and control innovations designed to elevate performance, simplify operation, and enhance the overall boating experience. Unveiled as part of a unified innovation showcase, Mercury’s latest advancements include the Mercury Keyless System, Boost, Premier Joystick, and a new DTS Performance Pedal for high-performance applications.

Together, these technologies reinforce Mercury’s leadership in integrated propulsion systems, bringing hardware, software, and digital connectivity together within a seamless, technology-led ecosystem that supports the brand’s prop-to-helm strategy.

“By launching these innovations together, Mercury delivers a clear message: the future of boating is smarter, more connected, and more intuitive,” said John Buelow, Mercury Marine president. “Each solution addresses a core consumer’s need: control, performance, ease of use, and personalization, while working together to create a more cohesive and premium on-water experience.”

The coordinated launch creates a high-impact moment at the Miami International Boat Show, followed by sustained momentum through product-specific storytelling throughout the year.

Boost: Performance, Unlocked Digitally
Boost introduces a software-based engine calibration that delivers a 5% to 21% increase in mid-range acceleration and zero-to-top-speed performance, addressing one of the most exhilarating performance attributes among boaters. Available as a dealer-installed upgrade for existing Mercury outboards, Boost delivers increased responsiveness without aftermarket modifications, allowing owners to unlock additional performance through trusted, manufacturer-backed software. Boost will also be installed on select Mercury outboards manufactured later this year. The platform advances Mercury’s shift toward digital product experiences, improves ownership, and establishes the foundation for a broader portfolio of software-based upgrades.

Mercury Keyless System: A New Standard in Smart Boating
The new Mercury Keyless System puts easy access and convenience in the palm of your hand by unlocking, powering up and securing your boat from a mobile device. Designed to support both single- and multi-engine configurations, the system integrates directly with SmartCraft® Connect, consolidating security, connectivity, and control into one seamless digital ecosystem. An automotive-inspired startup delivering intuitive vessel automation, centralized security, and effortless control of complex configurations while supporting up to six engines with ease.  The Keyless System is compatible with 75hp and higher mechanical engines and all DTS engines.

Premier Joystick: Elevated Control, Expanded Capability
Mercury introduced a redesigned Premier Joystick and updated Multi-Function Display (MFD) interface for a more intuitive control experience at the helm. New capabilities include Dockhook, which helps maintain position alongside a dock for easier tie-ups, as well as Skyhook® Reposition, and remote helm Skyhook control. This launch also expands joystick piloting support to outboards with dual bow thrusters, delivering greater precision and lateral control during low-speed maneuvering. Additionally, non-joystick users gain expanded access to advanced features such as Skyhook®, Heading Hold, and Position Hold. Together, these enhancements increase confidence at the helm, improve maneuverability in tight spaces, and broaden access to Mercury’s most advanced control technologies.

DTS Performance Pedal: Precision Control at Speed
Rounding out the innovation suite is the DTS Performance Pedal, a purpose-built foot throttle engineered for greater control and safety in high-speed, single-engine applications by allowing operators to keep both hands on the steering wheel. Designed for DTS-equipped boats operating at speeds of 75 mph and above, the Performance Pedal is ideally suited for bass boats, as well as single-engine catamarans and small sport boats.

Compatible with both current and legacy DTS rigging, the pedal features an all-new, compact throttle input sensor with improved feel, premium anodized billet aluminum construction, non-slip EVA marine decking, and an integrated toe hook for added safety, delivering precise throttle control in demanding performance environments.

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
