YAMAHA TWO-STROKES DESERVE NAVALLOY

Yamaha Two Strokes

Apr 17, 2018

Yamaha two-stroke outboards are renowned for long service lives. Owners wanting to protect them from the ravages of galvanic corrosion choose Navalloy® aluminum sacrificial anodes, from market leader Performance Metals Products. They offer complete, easy-to-install kits for 200–250 hp engines, model year 2002 and later, and 300 hp, 2004 and later.

Unlike some materials that are limited to salt or fresh water, but not both, revolutionary Navalloy is highly effective in all salinities. It lasts 30% longer than zinc and up to four times that of magnesium, with superior protection qualities. And as it doesn’t contain mercury or cadmium and only 5% zinc, it’s easy on the environment.

Manufactured in the USA to military specification MIL-DTL-24779B(SH) and ABYC requirements, Performance Metals’ anodes feature the innovative Red Spot Wear Indicator. When enough Navalloy is corroded away, the colorful bar shows that it’s time to change the anode.

Replacing Navalloy anodes is fast and easy, especially on an outboard. Kits include two anodes and all mounting hardware. All that’s needed is a few simple tools and 10–15 minutes of time.
