2023 U.S. Statistical Abstract: Cruiser, Watersport, Fishing Boat and Trailer Sales Trends Report Now Available

NMMA 2023 Statistical Abstract

Oct 22, 2024

The latest sales trends report for cruisers, watersports, fishing boats and trailers, part of NMMA’s 2023 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract. The report examines retail unit sales for each category and by application, serving as the industry’s go-to resource for historical data.

After several years of exceptional growth and with downward economic pressures, sales of new cruisers, watersport and fishing boats slowed throughout 2023. Watersport boats led the market with 35.2% of sales, followed by fishing boats at 30.7%. Jet boats, though representing just 4.5% of the market, surged by 44.3% to 11,583 units.

The U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract is a comprehensive summary of statistics on the recreational boating industry in the United States, providing a universal data source with an historical look at many industry sectors and detailed trends analysis. This report presents detailed data for boat registrations, boat engine and accessory sales, expenditures, and the retail and pre-owned markets. It also features an in-depth look at the import and export marketplace focusing on product categories, trade partners and regional analysis.
