Deadline for IMBC Presentation Proposals Approaches

Canadian businesses and individuals serving the international marina and dealer community are invited to submit proposals for presentation seminars at the International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC) by April 15, 2011. IMBC, produced by the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), is scheduled for February 1–3, 2012, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL. The official call for presentations, which contains guidelines and potential presenter information, is posted on IMBC’s website: www.marinaassociation.org/imbc/program .

“We are reaching out to the industry for current, topical presentations by experienced and objective individuals,” Jim Frye, AMI chair and president, says. “We spend a great deal of time on the content for the conference and we want to be sure it speaks to our audience. In order to do that, we need to hear from marina owners and operators as well as boat repair and service yards.”

IMBC’s co-ordinators are looking for presentations that are pertinent to IMBC’s audience, which includes internationally acclaimed marina-industry professionals, Certified Marina Managers (CMMs), potential Certified Marina Managers, marina and boatyard owners and operators, boat repairers, and more.

Presentations can be designed for all levels of experience—from fundamental and intermediate to advanced topics. IMBC organizers ask that the information be timely, informative, and educational without overt company or product promotions.

Formed in 2002 as the National Marina & Boatyard Conference, the International Marina & Boatyard Conference is currently the only show catering specifically to marina and boatyard owners, operators, and managers as well as dockmasters, harbormasters, boat builders and repairers, and industry consultants.

IMBC’s producer, the Association of Marina Industries (AMI) is a nonprofit membership organization providing management training, education, and information about research, legislation, and environmental issues affecting the marina industry.
