ICOMIA Announces Hybrid Marine Propulsion Conference and Call for Speakers
The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) is pleased to announce its much anticipated ‘2nd International Hybrid Marine Propulsion Conference’ to be held immediately preceding the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS) on Monday 12 November 2012 at the Amsterdam RAI.
Following the resounding success of last year’s conference, described by Theo Lingmont, Director International Exhibitions, Amsterdam RAI, as an “invaluable insight into the perfect marriage of innovative technology and environmental benefit”, ICOMIA is inviting leading experts to present the latest hybrid developments and deliver a unique insight into hybrid system design, construction and operation.
The ‘Call for Speakers’ is open to everybody and expressions of interests are requested by Friday 15 June. Abstracts will be reviewed by an expert panel and successful speakers will be announced in late summer.
“With hybrid cars continuing to generate a great deal of consumer interest, there is increasing pressure for our industry to provide cost effective hybrid boats” says Tony Rice, ICOMIA Secretary General,
“In response to this pressure, this year’s Conference will concentrate on practical solutions for marine hybrid propulsion and, for the first time, will include a technology showcase. The Conference will provide an opportunity for delegates to review current state of the art designs and discuss future technologies and trends”.
ICOMIA’s 2nd International Hybrid Marine Propulsion Conference is a must for anyone considering investing in hybrids, including boat builders, equipment suppliers, systems integrators, equipment, engine and propeller manufacturers, designers and naval architects to name a few!
