ICOMIA Launch Latest Statistics Book
The latest annual statistics book from ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) is now available, providing the recreational marine industry with reliable global boating statistics. Representing the global marine industry since 1967, today ICOMIA has 35 marine industry association members (MIAs), estimated to represent more than 90% of the global boating business, making it well positioned to provide an international compilation of data covering the industry’s varied segments.
The ICOMIA Statistics Book is the foremost annual tool the industry has to sum up international activity and, for the first time, this year’s edition includes invaluable market data from China. In addition to statistics collated from MIAs in standard format for cross-reference and comparison, the Statistics Book includes trend line graphs showing boat production, outboard engine, PWC and diesel engine sales over the past eight years for Finland, Japan, New Zealand and the United States (provided by ICOMIA’s Marine Engine Committee). In addition, the Statistics Book offers detailed national reports on the industry’s largest market countries and statistics on the superyacht order book (courtesy of ShowBoats International/Boat International Media). The statistics are based on information from 2011. The Statistics Book also presents results of a 2012 survey summarizing mid-year market trends across 23 responding countries. “The ICOMIA Statistics Book offers a unique insight into the worldwide recreational boating industry;”, says ICOMIA Secretary General Tony Rice, “over the years ICOMIA has continued to improve the process of gathering statistics in a fragmented and diversified industry that mainly is composed of small companies; the resulting information is used extensively within the industry and as a reference by those on the fringe, interested in investing or needing to work with the sector”.ICOMIA members and their members enjoy a discount of 50% when purchasing ICOMIA’s Statistics Book.
