IMBC Adds Fundraising Golf Tournament to Schedule

The International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC) is arranging a pre-conference golf tournament at Disney’s Osprey Ridge Course to raise funds for those looking to further their professional development within the marina industry. IMBC—produced by the Association of Marina Industries (AMI)—is scheduled for February 1–3, 2012, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Registration for the golf tournament, scheduled for January 31, 2012, opens in October.

“We’re excited to add yet another networking opportunity to IMBC’s schedule,” Jim Frye, CMM, AMI’s president and chair, says. “It is important to us to provide many opportunities, both professional and casual, for members of the industry to create connections, discuss business, and socialize with old friends. Plus, we get to have fun while we raise funds for a great cause.”

Disney’s Osprey Ridge Golf Course, rated 41⁄2 stars in Golf Digest magazine, features dramatic golf fairways that cut through stands of live oak, pine, palmetto, cypress, and bay trees. It boasts over 7,000 yards from the longest tees for a par of 72—making it suitable for serious and recreational golfers who seek a challenge. For more information about the course, attendees are encouraged to visit www.disneyworld.disney.go.com/golf/osprey-ridge-golf-course/.

The tournament will follow a modified shotgun format and will include lunch as well as drinks and hors d’oeuvre at the tournament’s closing reception. The cost to compete is $195 for individuals and $750 for foursomes. In addition to the lunch and reception mentioned above, registration includes play, cart, and pre-practice balls. Registration for IMBC is not required to play in the tournament. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Neil Ross Fund, a program for professionals who wish to receive discounts to participate in training offered through AMI and AMI’s subsidiary, the International Marina Institute. Hole, product, and the beverage-cart sponsorships are also available. For more information, visit www.marinaassociation.org/imbc/schedule/golf-tournament.

To sign up to play, participants can add the tournament to their IMBC registration. Registration will open on Tuesday, October 11, 2011.

As of July 1st, 2024 the embargo is lifted on the photos and information about Four Winns’ new H9 model and it is stunning!

About a month ago, I traveled to Charlevoix, MI for a special press event to introduce the H9 to a small group of journalists. The water and the weather were a bit cool but the sun was out and Lake Charlevoix was calm and the Four Winns H9 was very impressive. This is a 29-foot 11-inch luxury day boat with a 9- foot 2-inch beam and it features a fabulous expansive flat floor all the way from the bow rider area to the transom and the swim platform.
