You Are Invited To Celebrate With Youth Boatworks

You are invited to come to the shop and celebrate with the Youth Boatworks group in the greater Toronto area, on Sunday Dec 11,  between 11:00 am – 2:00pm.

The Youth Boatworks team of volunteers and youth have worked hard to establish the exciting Atlantic Challenge Program in Toronto and to build their 38foot long boat (called a gig) .

The Youth Boatworks group had a really great 2011. They launched their new wooden gig named ‘Diversite’, successfully sailed and rowed her with youth and new volunteers and have now started building boat number 2.

Diversite is a beautiful wooden replica of an 18th century Napolenoic long boat and  when they rowed and sailed her in the Toronto Harbour, Diversite turned heads and even ended up being filmed by CTV !

The Atlantic Challenge Program is an international competition that any keen sailor would enjoy. The Youth Boatworks group is hoping to gain more support so they invite you to come to the shop and celebrate with them, see Diversite and see how it was built.  Mark your calendar for Sunday Dec 11,  11:00 am – 2:00pm.  Click here to see the Invitation with directions attached. The celebration is at the shop at 1095 Strathy Ave, Unit 23,  1 km west of Dixie and Dundas.

Come and hear about our plans to grow and establish a permanent centre of nautical learning.

Hope to see you there!

Paul Fournier – Director – Youth Boatworks Canada
