MARK REEDENAUER TAKES REINS AS NMEA MANAGING DIRECTOR
Position includes day-to-day management as well as liaison with members, industry
The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) is pleased to announce the promotion of Mark Reedenauer to the position of managing director. In his new job, Reedenauer will manage the day-to-day activities and programs of the NMEA and serve as principal liaison with the membership and the marine industry. He will report directly to the chairman of the NMEA.
Reedenauer has 15 years of experience in the marine electronics industry. He joined the NMEA in 2011 as the association’s documentation specialist. In that position he oversaw the Marine Electronics Installer training programs and all NMEA technical standards, including updates to NMEA 2000®, NMEA 0183, and NMEA 0400. Reedenauer came to the NMEA from Airmar Technology Corp., where he served as product marketing manager. Prior to that he was a technical sales and support specialist for Northstar.
“Mark has been with the NMEA for a little over three years and has continually displayed a ‘can do’ attitude and a great work ethic, both qualities at the top of my list for employees,” said NMEA Chairman Johnny Lindstrom. “You can usually teach processes, but it’s really difficult to teach attitude and work ethic.”
“I want to thank the NMEA Board of Directors for seeing my potential for growing our association,” said Reedenauer. “I am excited for the opportunity to get the younger generation of the NMEA membership involved in our various committees.
The more involvement we have, the more benefits for all our members.”
