BOATING BC LAUNCHES MARINA TRADE SECTOR GROUP

Boating In BC

Boating BC is extremely pleased to launch a new Marina Trade Sector Group for marina owners and operators across British Columbia. Members of the group will enjoy the many benefits that Boating BC offers and a full membership with the Association of Marina Industries (AMI).

Boating BC & AMI

Last fall Boating BC and AMI announced a strategic membership alliance and are working to expand professional marina training programs in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest, with content tailored to the needs of our region. Members of the Marina Trade Sector Group can access these and other training programs, and industry conferences for a discounted fee: the Boating BC Conference, International Marina & Boatyard Conference and the International Marina Institute’s training opportunities. The IMI’s training courses are the first step in achieving the marina industry’s coveted Certified Marina Manger (CMM) and Certified Marina Operator (CMO) certifications.

Members of the Marina Trade Sector Group will also receive regular industry updates from both Associations, have access to the Vancouver International Boat Show, ongoing government advocacy, enjoy top level networking opportunities and realize everyday savings through our Member Savings Program.

How Can Marina Members Join?

When marina members receive their membership renewal notice on July 1st, it will include an option to join the Marina Trade Sector Group for an additional fee of $50CDN. The regular cost for a Canadian company to join AMI is $100USD annually. By joining through our sector group, members realize an approximate savings of $70CDN.

In the coming months we will reach out to our marina members for input into regional training programs and our new sector group. We look forward to working together to grow the marina sector and to ensuring marinas across our province have access to the latest knowledge, world class training and networking opportunities.

If you have any questions regarding the Marina Trade Sector Group, please contact us at 604.683.5191 or by email at info@boatingbc.ca. You can also learn more about AMI at www.marinaassociation.org.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
