NMMA CANADA ED ELECTED TO INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE EXECUTIVE FOR ICOMIA

Sara Anghel - NMMA Canada

Sara Anghel, executive director and vice-president of government relations for the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Canada, was elected to the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) Executive Committee earlier this month during the ICOMIA annual congress in Gdansk, Poland.
 
Founded in 1996, ICOMIA is the international trade association representing the global marine industry and brings together the world’s national marine associations into one global organization.  Comprised of over 36 national organizations worldwide, ICOMIA represents it’s members at an international level, presenting a strong and united voice when dealing with issues challenging the industry.  Anghel has been an active participant on many of ICOMIA’s committees over the last seven years including more recently being elected the chair of the ICOMIA statistics committee.
 
“The NMMA Canada Board of Directors are thrilled to see Sara’s efforts on behalf of the marine industry in Canada be recognized by this prestigious and influential international organization.” said Brian Milligen, Chair of the NMMA Canada Board of Directors. “Sara’s efforts and accomplishments in Canada have served our industry well and this new responsibility will give Canada an even stronger voice internationally.”
 
The Executive Committee is the management board of ICOMIA. It comprises of 10 members drawn from a representative geographical spread of the full members. Members usually serve a 5-year term with the exception of the President, who can serve up to seven years.
 
Anghel began her term on June 12, 2015.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
