BOATING BC CONFERENCE NEW SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT

Mark Amaral

In 2014 Boating BC announced an alliance with the Association of Marina Industries (AMI); a non-profit membership organization dedicated exclusively to serving the needs of the marina industry worldwide. This year’s Boating B.C. Conference welcomes Mark Amaral of AMI’s executive team for his first conference appearance. Mark oversees all of AMI’s product and service offerings and is working closely with Boating BC to develop tailored training opportunities for the marina sector in our region. Mark will draw on his vast experience in the marina industry in this informative presentation about the work of AMI and opportunities to work collaboratively with our Association and marinas in BC and the Pacific Northwest.

Mark is the author of over 90 technical articles, peer-reviewed journal papers, reports and publications.  He has lectured and facilitated extensively on topics that include pollution reduction at marinas, reducing risk and hazards in coastal communities, managing coastal resources through participatory processes, and organizational design, work planning and management.  Mark has a Masters Degree in Community Planning and Environmental Management from the University of Rhode Island.
