LEGEND BOATS PARTNER CONFERENCE 2018

Legends Partner Conference

Nov 12, 2017

The recent Legend Boats Dealer Event was a huge success, with 90% participation from Legend’s nearly 60 Dealers across Canada! The Event kicked off with a cocktail reception at Legend Boats Head Office in their all new, state of the art facility, where Dealers were welcomed with open arms and cheers. Serenaded with the music from local Sudbury musician, JoPo, the Dealers got to mingle with the Head Office folks that they deal with by phone and email on a day to day basis.

The next two days were filled with seminars and workshops, put on by none other than renowned keynote speaker Sam Dantzler. Sam’s dynamic speaking ability has captured audience members across Canada and the US. Dealers were also treated to a special appearance from John Pfeifer, President of Mercury Marine, who flew in from Mercury’s Head Office specifically to speak to the Legend Dealers. He went over the newest developments in Mercury Outboard technology and spoke about the relationship between Legend and Mercury over the last 25 years.

It was a true honour to have Mr. Pfeifer take a break in his busy schedule to come and address the Legend Family personally and it was also a once in a lifetime learning experience for the entire staff to have Sam Dantzlers’ wisdom bestowed upon them. Sam spoke of everything from the differences between a want based and a need based industry, to how incredible it is to have a job building, selling and delivering boats to Canadians, to how important it is to build a lasting relationship with every single customer. Sam compared the boating industry to both the extreme vastness of the universe and also to the tiniest atoms present on this planet. It was truly fascinating and left each and every Dealer with something to bring home to their Dealerships for next season.

Following each day of learning was, in true Legend fashion, a massive party! The first evening, everyone stayed at the Legend Headquarters, ate exceptional food, and was entertained by a live band. Dealers tried out the new 2018 boats and pontoons on the Vermillion River behind the Legend Boats Headquarters before starting a legendary bon fire, complete with s’mores, and also a huge fireworks spectacle.

The last evening was the main gala. Dealers were taken by limo to the Cavern at Science North. After dinner and the awards ceremony, honouring those Dealers who have been with Legend for 5, 10, 15 and 20 years, the crowd was anxiously waiting to see what they were going to do with the 100 or so doumbek drums that were wheeled in. Needless to say, the Cavern was rocked by a collective Legend sound as everyone worked together to keep up the beat.

Once one is part of the Legend Family, they can always expect the royal treatment. It’s not about bragging or showboating, it’s about learning together and showing friends and family a party that is truly worthy of them and that’s all around Legendary!

Enjoy The Video!

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
