ICOMIA AND RAI AMSTERDAM RENEW LONG-STANDING COOPERATION CONTRACT

ICOMIA

ICOMIA and RAI Amsterdam first signed their landmark METSTRADE ‘cooperation contract’ in 1991 and haven’t looked back since. One of the most significant partnerships in the recreational marine equipment sector, ICOMIA and RAI envisioned METSTRADE as the industry’s most influential B2B trade show – a vision which year upon year has lived up to and exceeded this expectation.

The most prominent features of their cooperation include ICOMIA continuing to sponsor the Breakfast Briefing and most importantly continuing to moderate the partnership between RAI and ICOMIA’s global Marine Industry Association membership, who serve as the gateway to the international leisure marine industry.

Meanwhile, RAI remains one of ICOMIA’s most staunch supporters – providing ICOMIA access to meeting rooms and facilities during its events and ensuring ICOMIA is represented in its METSTRADE governing body the ‘Exhibition Committee’.

ICOMIA has been the voice of the recreational marine industry since 1966. No less than 35 Marine Industry Associations across the world are members of ICOMIA today, including the vast majority of the industrialised countries from North America across to Japan and China and from Finland down to New Zealand. Whilst METSTRADE is the world’s largest trade show for the marine equipment sector and is the only trade show of its kind that ICOMIA officially supports.

“It is impossible to overestimate the benefit that the ICOMIA/RAI partnership has on the industry” said JoukoHuju, ICOMIA President. “We make a great team, sharing a primary goal to further strengthen the marine equipment sector. METSTRADE is the most important show for our equipment manufacturers and suppliers and is a well- established ‘must attend’ event for the global industry. I am proud of ICOMIA’s long term association with RAI and of our commitment to METSTRADE”.

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
