The National Marine Representatives Association (NMRA) has expanded its benefit package for independent sales rep Full Members. Through a special collaboration, they now automatically receive membership in MANA, the Manufacturers’ Agents National Association.

For many years, NMRA has enjoyed a close working relationship with MANA and regularly offers its members access to its SalesWise business development training and coaching teleforums. The organizations frequently collaborate on projects and co-presented a past IBEX workshop.

“We want to provide our members with the best possible benefits,” said Neal Trombley, NMRA president. “This is an exciting development that promises to have a significant impact on our reps.”
Aside from NMRA benefits such as free legal counsel, business leads, sales contract templates and a representative voice within the marine industry, MANA provides tools to widen a rep’s reach and exposure. Members are included in the largest searchable database of independent sales professionals, have access to educational opportunities, special reports and publications, and receive its monthly magazine, Agency Sales.

“The thousands of MANA agency and manufacturer members are among the most professional in their industries,” said Charles M. Cohon, MANA CEO and president. “We’re looking forward to welcoming NMRA members into our fold, and helping them grow their businesses.”

For over 60 years, MANA has served manufacturers’ agents worldwide, and provided the tools to develop and foster the rep/principal business relationship. It helps fund the Manufacturers’ Representative Educational Research Foundation for professional education. Its website is www.manaonline.org.

Founded in 1960, the NMRA serves independent marine sales representatives and the manufacturers who sell through reps. It functions as an industry voice, networking tool and information source. Active in the marine industry, it annually awards one or more scholarships to students pursuing education in the maritime trades.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
