WESTERN MARINE COMPANY MANAGEMENT TRANSITION

Paul, Mellisa, Brad

Nov 12, 2019

The shareholders of Western Marine Company are pleased to announce a management transition plan for the company that will assure continued growth and excellent service to our market for years to come.

Bill Falk and Alan Stovell have managed the business since its beginning in 1985. In that time Western has grown from a single location in Vancouver with 12 employees to a company employing 65 with operations in Vancouver and Barrie, Ontario. Alan and Bill attribute the company’s success to its talented and dedicated staff, the support of so many loyal and successful customers, and its valued partnerships with a broad array of vendors.

Bill and Alan are going to start taking more time off and will step away from the day-to- day operations of the business. This is going to start for Bill immediately and Alan in a year or two. To ensure that the company continues to receive the attention and dedication to excellence in service and innovation as it has to date, they are pleased to announce the following management promotions effective November 1st 2019:

Paul Saunders – President
Paul is currently our CFO and has been with the company for over 20 years and has had active roles in many areas of the business.

Melissa Ballard – Vice President – Operations
Melissa is currently our Purchasing Manager and also has more than 20 years experience in most areas of the business.

Brad Kane – Vice President – Transat Marine
Brad is currently the General Manager of our Transat Marine Division (Barrie, Ontario) and will retain that position while taking a more active role in senior management.

Bill and Alan will remain active in the company as Directors for some time to come but primarily in support roles.

They are excited by the opportunities for Western Marine, its employees, suppliers and customers under the guidance of Paul, Melissa and Brad and look forward to the future for all.
