ICOMIA STATISTICS BOOK 2019 PUBLISHED
Nov 24, 2020
The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) has released the latest edition of its Recreational Boating Industry Statistics.
The ICOMIA Statistics Book, as the only product of its kind, provides a wealth of industry intelligence in one useful reference document. ICOMIA’s statistics are used extensively within the industry, especially by those interested in investing or seeking to work within certain sectors.
The trade association’s membership is estimated to represent more than 80% of the world’s leisure boating business, making ICOMIA well positioned to provide an international compilation of data covering the industry’s diversified and varied segments.
This year has been unprecedented, and although the book features data from 2019, extensive work has been put into the market overview to highlight the impact of COVID-19 on the industry in 15 countries, following the interviews we conducted with leading Marine Industry Associations around the world. This of course is a snapshot (as of October 2020), with the industry sentiment changing and adapting to customer demand, state of lockdowns (and the ability to manufacture) per country, as well as the ability to hold much-needed boat shows.
Highlights this year also include new data on the number of charter businesses across different countries and more detailed data on boating facilities provided by members of the ICOMIA Marinas Group, including the number of berths, slips, moorings and any other boat storage alternatives present in marinas in 24 countries.
The ICOMIA Statistics Book includes:
· 2020 global data snapshot & an overview of COVID-19 impact on the industry
· Detailed national reports on the industry’s largest market countries
· Global summaries of key product segments from 25 countries
· Export/import data for international trade in boats from 43 countries
· Marine engine statistics from ICOMIA’s Marine Engine Committee (IMEC)
