The Nature Conservancy of Canada has an amazing opportunity to protect and care for 7,608 hectares (18,800 acres) on Manitoulin Island at Vidal Bay, including over 18 kilometres of shoreline along the North Channel of Lake Huron. This project is setting a new standard of large, landscape-scale conservation in Ontario. It will redefine the vision of wildlife corridors in the province, creating a shore to shore, continuous stretch of wilderness in an area where projects of this magnitude are rare. The property’s features provide essential ecosystem services and will help combat the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.

We need your help!
With the support of our donors, we have raised 91 per cent of our $16,000,000 goal to secure and steward this vast coastal wilderness for the long term, but we are not finished yet. We must close this funding gap to ensure the land’s perpetual care. You can be a part of this historic conservation project. Please consider a donation or multi-year pledge to help protect and care for Vidal Bay.
