Digital Yacht’s new NavAlarm & MOB Alert improve safety for every crew member

The MOB Alert system from Digital Yacht is designed to address one of the most serious emergencies a captain or crew can face – man overboard (MOB).
 
Thanks to its simplicity, with the just a press of a button, MOB Alert from Digital Yacht synthesises an instant AIS MOB alert onto the boat’s local NMEA 2000 navigation network – in the same format that an AIS beacon generates.   It also creates an additional industry standard MOB alert PGN for maximum compatibility across all brands of chart plotter or multi-function display.  These displays will then show the casualty position, accurately marked using data from the boat’s main GPS.
 
The latest yacht racing rules demand a MOB event marker to be within a few feet of the helm and on larger vessels, it may be important to have multiple activation points.  MOB Alert can support this with connectivity for additional switches including outboard kill cords.

MOB Alert has also been recognised and honoured by the marine industry at METS 2024, where it received a DAME Award nomination for its innovative design.  At the US Newport Boat show, it also received a prestigious innovation award. 
 
MOB Alert goes hand in hand with Digital Yacht’s NavAlarm. NavAlarm is a loud (102dB) and versatile universal NMEA 2000 alarm sounder, designed to make sure no alert goes unnoticed. Alarms from the MOB system will trigger this device. NavAlarm features dual volume alert levels, a built-in silence/reset switch, and ultra-rugged IPx5 waterproof protection, making it the ideal alarm for demanding maritime environments.
