The Boating Ontario Dealer Association held their Best Practices workshop on Thursday, March 27 at the Nottawasaga Inn & Resort in Alliston, Ontario with some 80 people in attendance. Most of the biggest and best-known dealers were represented in the room and the interest level was high for the presentations.

Following the opening remarks, Liz Walz of the MRAA presented a session called Leading the Pack which got things off on a thought-provoking and positive note. Ken Price from HKMB HUB International Insurance explained the Boating Ontario
insurance program, how it works and gave a long list of good ideas for keeping costs down.

Following the HUB International presentation, Jeff McLean from Dealerplan Peterborough talked about finance and then the group went into a shirtsleeves session on a couple of important topics.

After lunch, Matt Gruhn, president of the MRAA did his presentation called The Most Important question and again, that led into another shirtsleeves session on important and timely matters like the Canada / US exchange rates, hedging funds and more. Keynote speaker Sam Dantzler closed the sessions out with his presentation on maintaining Internal Focus to help drive your business is forward.

Everyone in attendance seemed very positive about the value of the sessions and it served as an excellent kickoff to the 2014 season.
