Best Practices

There’s a brand-new opportunity for Marina operators and dealers to boost their business results, starting this spring.
 
On March 27, 2014 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, the Boating Ontario Dealer Association
will host the first “Best Practices Workshop”. The event is sure to provide dealers and brokers with valuable information that will benefit their businesses.
 
The day will feature an impressive roster of professional speakers and industry experts.
 
Sam Dantzler who was very impressive at the December Boating Ontario Conference and Trade Show is back. Sam Dantzler will explore the actual behavioral science behind getting your employees onboard to create the necessary show to hold margins and create repeat & referral business for years to come. 
 
Liz Walz  will lead a session where you will learn twelve proven techniques to improve your results now and moving forward, and where to turn to put them into place immediately.
 
Matt Gruhn, head of the MRAA will talk about “The Most Important Question” in his session where you will learn new ways to position your business for success and be exposed to resources that will help you achieve that success
 
Jeff McLean from Dealerplan Peterborough will give his perspective on future interest rates and provide an overview on which banks are actively seeking loans in the retail boating market. Jeff will also discuss Canadian Revenue Agency audits on boat dealers receiving fees from banks for dealers assisting with boat financing.
 
There are also valuable Open Forum Sessions on Canada / US Exchange Rates and Hedging, a chance to give your wish list for Boating Ontario Dealer Association activities and support and more!
 
Through sponsorship support, the costs of this excellent event are heavily subsidized and so, the cost per person is just $100 plus HST including continental breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks.

The 2024 Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held by the National Marine Electronics Association, (NMEA) took place September 16 to the 20th in Providence, Rhode Island. Boating Industry Canada was there for the first time and we were very impressed with what we found.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
