ABYC Mini-tutorials on YouTube Show How To Use WebSTIR

In February, ABYC mailed their members a mini-survey about their services. ABYC has tabulated those responses and developed a better understanding of the memberships’ needs and wants.

One of the key revelations was regarding WebSTIR, the here-to-stay, 24/7 online access to the ABYC Standards, the USCG’s Rules and Regulations for Recreational Craft, the companion  USCG compliance guidelines, the EPA Rules and Regulations for Recreational Craft, the ABYC comparison reports and the past ABYC supplements from 2003.

Most comments were extremely positive, but there were those who had not even logged into WebSTIR and were forfeiting their most highly rated member benefit, the ABYC Standards!

To address this and make the ABYC Standards more accessible, John Adey, the ABYC Technical Director and Vice President, has produced a series of mini-tutorials that unravel the mysteries of WebSTIR and may be easily viewed via YouTube.  The videos cover login, library, navigation and search functions and, of course, are offered at no charge.  You are invited at your convenience to take advantage, as a member benefit, of these illuminating videos and submit your comments.  You may use the links below or the duplicate copies located at the Members Only page of the ABYC web site, www.abycinc.org

Based on the experience of the many enthusiastic WebSTIR users, ABYC encourages you to give the online access a test drive.  You’ll be glad you did!

Four Winns’ new H9 is stunning!

CMRA

As of July 1st, 2024 the embargo is lifted on the photos and information about Four Winns’ new H9 model and it is stunning!

About a month ago, I traveled to Charlevoix, MI for a special press event to introduce the H9 to a small group of journalists. The water and the weather were a bit cool but the sun was out and Lake Charlevoix was calm and the Four Winns H9 was very impressive. This is a 29-foot 11-inch luxury day boat with a 9- foot 2-inch beam and it features a fabulous expansive flat floor all the way from the bow rider area to the transom and the swim platform.
