Buckeye Marine Raises $13,000+ for Kawartha North Family Health Team

On Friday October 7th Buckeye Marine hosted its annual Product Preview & Charity Event on site at their dryland facility just outside of Bobcaygeon. The event is hosted annually on the Friday night of the Thanksgiving weekend to raise money and awareness for a specific charity while allowing clients the chance to see what’s new for the upcoming boating season. This year Buckeye recognized the Kawartha North Family Health Teams efforts to fund a walk in clinic as the worthy recipient.

“The Kawartha North Family Health Team is not only a resource for the local communities of Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls but a walk-in clinic in these locations will act also as the closest medical facility for many of our seasonal residence and Buckeye clients. The KNFHT is working very diligently to improve the health care availability in our local area with outside the box thinking like the publicly funded walk-in clinics. We applaud KNFHT as all of this would not be possible without a great amount of volunteer effort and the support of the community.” states Buckeye Marine’s marketing coordinator Carly Poole.  Along with the money raised from the event, Buckeye matches the funds creating a sponsorship fund to helps support local charities, groups and those in need in our community throughout the coming year.

Buckeye recognizes that this event would not be possible without the support of marine industry, its vendors and media, Bobcaygeon and Fenelon area vendors and of course, all who attended the event. This year’s event was run allowing all attendees the chance to participate financially by purchasing tickets for country style actions, throwing coins in the toonie toss as well as presence of the traditional silent and live auctions.

“We are glad to be able to enjoy this event with our customers, local vendors, marine industry professionals and Buckeye Marine employees. We thank everyone who attended and contributed items and sponsorship because without everyone who participated the event would not have been such a huge success” states Poole.

Buckeye Marine is an internationally award winning, family owned and operated boat dealership which has been located in Bobcaygeon, Ontario since 1949.  For more information about Buckeye, this event or to participate in future events with Buckeye please contact: Carly Poole, Marketing Coordinator, Buckeye Marine; carly@buckeyemarine.com
