Positive Results At The 2011 Canadian Marine Trade Show

By mid-afternoon on October 31st, the final day of the 2011 Canadian Marine Trade Show, the exhibitors were smiling and some were reporting surprisingly positive results. In the Humminbird display, Richard Yantha and John Noel reported that their sales were ahead an amazing 45% over the previous year. “We’re having a great show!” commented John Noel. “All our Canadian shows have been up though. I’d say our industry is really up because the dealers had a great summer and the new orders are a response to that. Generally, |marine electronics seems to be doing well.”

Rob Edwards from Coast Distribution System Inc., was showing a very interesting line of portable marine generators that deliver sine wave power. “We have a new product to the industry and sharing this at the Canadian Marine Trade Show is key to educating the dealers who sell to the consumer – I mean, what better venue is there?”

Jim Holbrook of Quick Cable was new to the business but he commented, “I’m new to the Canadian Marine Trade Show but it’s been a good show for me – sales are coming in.”

No one we talked to said they had the big increases seen at Humminbird but generally, everyone we asked had a positive feeling about the show and about their sales future as we head toward the 2012 boat show season.
