3D DIGITAL WORKSHOP TO BE OFFERED AT IBEX

3D Seminar

3D Printing will be featured at The International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), taking place September 29-October 2, 2014 at the Tampa Convention Center. IBEX will partner with Robert McNeel & Associates, Miami's RhinoFabStudio, and DRS Technologies, Inc. Advanced Marine Technology Center, to offer live demonstrations and educational workshops for attendees on 3D printing and scanning technologies applicable to the marine industry.

"3D printing technology is changing all aspects of manufacturing and is now available for the marine industry. We are excited to host these leading experts in the field and to feature this latest technology as well as offer a lab and workshops for our attendees to become educated," said Anne Dunbar, IBEX Show Director. "We invite attendees to bring parts or a computer model to share with our team of experts and let them work with you to solve your most challenging problems in design, manufacturing, repair, and quality."

The IBEX 3D Digital Workshop will be located on the 2nd floor of the Tampa Bay Convention Center and will feature DRS Technologies' ORCA 3D, Chaos Group's V-Ray 3.0 for Rhino, and several products from RhinoFabStudios including the RhinoCAM, Grasshopper, Paneling Tools, and many more. The feature area on the show floor will offer live demonstrations of software, hardware machines – 3D printers, 3D scanners, Laser Cutters, CNC machines and more, and a series of educational presentations.

"We are looking forward to educating the marine industry at IBEX on the advantages of 3D technology to make it part of their production process to make small pieces easily and relatively inexpensively," said Andrés González, World-Wide Director, RhinoFabStudio. "Our goal is to teach, educate and share different methods of fabrication for industrial designers, architects, and engineers where Rhinoceros is involved in any cycle of the manufacturing process."

In addition to the area in the exhibit hall, Derek Eggers, Ed. D, Senior Instructional Consultant, Digital Design and Fabrication, University of Kentucky will offer a session in the IBEX seminar called
