ABYCWith the high demand for ABYC Certification training, we are looking for additional qualified instructors to teach our courses. ABYC adjunct instructors deliver course content in classroom environments as well as remotely through online presentations. For online interactive classes the schedules vary, but usually 1.5 hours in the morning or afternoon, 3 days a week for 3 weeks.
 
We are hiring instructors who are skilled in our certifications, which are: ABYC Standards, Marine Systems, Marine Corrosion, Marine Electrical, Diesel Engines, Gasoline Engines, and Advanced Marine Electrical.

Responsibilities Include:
• Thoroughly understanding of all topics included in the course material
• Familiarity with the mission and vision of the ABYC
• Ability to lead students through the course presentations and answer all applicable questions
• Staying updated on changing applicable standards and how they affect a technician
• Personal access to suitable and reliable WIFI, computer equipment, and webcam for online teaching
• Acting as a resource for students throughout the course, and beyond for those testing online
• Following all exam proctoring guidelines
• For in-person classes: traveling to the location and instructing 3-4 days, then administering the exam
 
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Hold current ABYC Certifications (Master Technician is a plus)
• 5-10 years working in the marine service field
• Comfortable and confident presenting to a diverse class of students both in-person and online
• Proficient with Microsoft Office especially PowerPoint
• Experience utilizing online conference software (GoToWebinar or Zoom)
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Flexible schedule and desire to make boating safer

The Portuguese Association of Ports and Marinas to Host ICOMIA World Marinas Conference in 2023

 

ICOMIAThe Portuguese Association of Ports and Marinas (APPR) will host the prestigious ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) World Marinas Conference 2023 in Autumn, bringing this international event to Portugal for the very first time.

The bidding took place during an ICOMIA Marinas Group meeting in November 2020 with a good setup from other applying candidates from Europe and the US. Vilamoura Marina at the heart of the Algarve in Portugal was selected as the next location for IWMC 2023.

The MC-618 upgrades Balmar’s venerable MC-614 alternator regulator by adding communication capabilities through a connection to the SG200 family of battery monitors. This means that real-time alternator and regulator information can be displayed on either the SG200 Color Display and/or the Balmar Smartphone App.
