AIRMAR Technology acquired by Amphenol Corporation

AIRMAR Technology Corporation, a world leader in ultrasonic transducers and Chirp technology, is pleased to announce its purchase by Amphenol Corporation (NYSE: APH). Amphenol, one of the world’s largest providers of high-technology interconnect, sensor and antenna solutions, is headquartered in Wallingford, Connecticut, USA. Airmar is now part of the Amphenol Interconnect and Sensor Systems Division, joining several other sensor and interconnect businesses, and will continue to retain its headquarters location in Milford, New Hampshire. 
 
Airmar’s global team of highly experienced scientists, designers, engineers and technicians, as well as a vertically integrated business model, has delivered four decades of innovation and product development. “Amphenol has a strong focus on innovation and growth, which matches Airmar’s culture. Being a part of the Amphenol family means Airmar and other Amphenol businesses will benefit from sharing technology and expertise. We look forward to future collaboration,” stated Steve Boucher, General Manager and founder of Airmar.

Since 1982, Airmar has developed and manufactured transducers for a diverse range of applications, including air-ranging industrial transducers, underwater scientific and survey transducers, weather sensing instruments, and an extensive line of marine transducers, headlined by the latest Chirp-ready products. The company consists of Airmar Technology, Marport, MSI Transducers, and Gemeco.

The 2024 Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held by the National Marine Electronics Association, (NMEA) took place September 16 to the 20th in Providence, Rhode Island. Boating Industry Canada was there for the first time and we were very impressed with what we found.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
