BOATING ONTARIO ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH CANADIAN YACHTING MEDIA (CYM) FOR THE ANNUAL BOATING ONTARIO DIRECTORY

Boating Ontario

June 23, 2020

Earlier this year, Boating Ontario issued a request for proposal to a total of six different media firms to help take an existing good product – our printed directory – and guide its future to the next level. After multiple extensive reviews and discussions with the Executive Board, the entire Board of Directors was given the opportunity to make the final decision. Following their fantastic and engaging presentation to the Board, the clear winner was obvious; Boating Ontario is thrilled to announce our partnership with Canadian Yachting Media (CYM) for the creation and publication of the new annual Boating Ontario Directory.

Get ready for revamped editorials, new images & local events, eye-catching & easy-to-understand member listings, and so much more! The printed Directory that you know and love will get a fresh & exciting spin – even more fresh and exciting? We’re launching an all-new, interactive digital experience that will let you be in control of your boating experience! If that’s not enough, we’ll also be bringing you a free mobile app version of the Directory that puts boating at your fingertips (or thumbs)!

Boating Ontario CEO Rick Layzell is ready give both members and boaters what they want; “As we look towards our future, we see the directory – in multiple formats, as a significant member benefit going forward. We know that for years boaters have carried ‘their directory’ on board. Expanding across multiple platforms delivers another exceptional membership value benefit and we look forward to seeing the creativity and initiative that Canadian Yachting will bring to the table.”

Canadian Yachting MediaNot only will the Directory be a must-have resource for boaters and those searching for products or services, but it is an outstanding opportunity for Boating Ontario members and outside companies! Boating Ontario and Canadian Yachting Media have listened to member feedback regarding advertising; the offer of lower rates has been introduced as a volume strategy approach – we want your participation and to work together to make your Directory a success! In return you can expect creative new ways to advertise within the printed, digital, and mobile versions, earning you the best bang for your buck! What’s more, the introduction of an innovative digital version in addition to a Directory app will allow consumers to discover and interact with your brand in ways they’ve never been able to before!

“We are thrilled to be working with Boating Ontario and their team in bringing the directory to the industry and the boaters in this province. The entire Canadian Yachting team is focused on ensuring the directory benefits from our publishing and digital expertise. Publishing today is an integrated approach and we intend to empower the Boating Ontario directory across the numerous platforms that boaters use to get their information.” said John Kerr, President of Canadian Yachting Media.

We are also pleased that Jill Snider, Directory Sales & Acting Publisher for the Boating Ontario Directory, will be heading the project; please contact Jill for advertising inquiries or with any questions you may have regarding the publication.
