Boston Whaler Owners Raise $10,000 for “Every Child Counts” School Supporting Special Needs Students in the Abaco Islands

Boston Whaler Fundraiser

Sept 2, 2025

Boston Whaler recently wrapped up its highly anticipated spring/summer owner event in the breathtaking Abaco Islands, where a week of exploration, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories culminated in a powerful act of generosity.

During a spirited ring toss fundraiser, Boston Whaler, joined by its dedicated owners and dealers, came together to raise $10,000 for Every Child Counts, a local non-profit school in Marsh Harbour that serves children with a wide range of disabilities across the Abaco Islands.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of our owners, dealers, and the extended Whaler family,” said Lenn Scholz, President of Boston Whaler. “Together, we’re creating lasting change in the communities we visit, and that’s something truly special.”

Every Child Counts offers individualized education, free evaluations, access to specialized consultants, and internship opportunities through local partnerships, all within a safe, nurturing environment that encourages each student to reach their full potential.

“We are deeply thankful to Boston Whaler and its incredible community of owners and dealers for this generous contribution,” said Nicole DeNardin Russell, Administrator at Every Child Counts. “Our belief is that every individual, regardless of ability, has something valuable to offer and contribute to our community. These funds will go directly toward enhancing our programs and resources, helping us continue to provide individualized support for our students. It means the world to our staff, our families, and most importantly, our students.”

The weeklong event was filled with standout moments, from island-hopping excursions and lunches at local favorites like the Abaco Inn to visits at iconic destinations such as the Hope Town Lighthouse, Pete’s Pub, and Nippers. A particularly memorable day was spent at Manjack Cay, where guests swam alongside marine life in crystal-clear waters.

Boston Whaler also extended heartfelt thanks to the dealers who helped make the trip a success:

            • The Lauderdale Marina

            • Fisherman’s Boat Group

            • MarineMax

Yet beyond the stunning scenery, it was the spirit of community that truly defined the experience. “Whether navigating the waters together, swapping stories over dinner, or lending a hand along the way, the bonds formed during this journey are what make our owner events so meaningful,” Scholz added.
