CBC INTERVIEWS ATLANTIC MARINE TRADES ASSOCIATION ABOUT TARIFFS

Tariffs CBC AMTA

June 26, 2018

Working with NMMA Canada, the Recreational Marine Trades Association across Canada made its official submission to the Government of Canada and the Prime Minister outlining our specific concerns regarding the retaliatory tariffs. A trade war between Canada and the US is bad for the recreational industry across Canada and it is extremely disappointing that the Government of Canada has had to make these drastic decisions. AMTA /Boating Atlantic submitted comments to the Finance Tariff Consultation by the deadline June 15, 2018 and Pat Nelder was interviewed by CBC Halifax and CBC Cape Breton on Friday June 15th. The CBC Halifax article that appeared over the weekend can be viewed here

AMTA/Boating Atlantic worked with the government of Nova Scotia prior to June 15th to explain how the recreational boating industry is conducted in the Maritime Provinces and how the tariffs will have a ripple effect across the industry should they be put into place.

Many thanks to the members and friends of the industry that submitted comments that were used in our submissions and who let us know that they had written to their MP and or sent in their comments to the Finance Tariff Consultation.
