Change in the Management Board of HanseYachts AG

Although Dr. Jens Gerhardt will be stepping down from the Management Board when his contract expires on 1 February 2022, he will still make himself available to HanseYachts AG in the future in an advisory capacity.

“Dr. Gerhardt has played a decisive role in shaping HanseYachts AG over the past 10 years. I would like to thank him expressly for his outstanding and longstanding service, especially in product development. We are pleased that he will continue to support us and provide his longstanding expertise particularly in the area of development. Hence, we were delighted to accept Dr. Gerhardt’s offer,” says Chairman of the Management Board, Hanjo Runde.

As of 10 January, we welcome Stefan Zimmermann as a new member of the Management Board. As Chief Operating Officer (COO, he will be in charge of Operations and Development. Zimmermann holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and is also a keen yachtsman. Over the last 25 years he has successfully held several national and international management positions, focusing on operations and development. His past positions include Plant Manager at Ford Automotive and COO at Motoren Werke Mannheim, Kinolt S.A and wind turbine manufacturer Senvion. Hanjo Runde: “We are pleased to have gained an experienced COO in Stefan Zimmermann.” Management Board Member Sven Göbel will take responsibility on the Board for Finance, Purchasing and Human Resources as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

HanseYachts AG is the second largest manufacturer of ocean-going sailing yachts in the world in terms of the number of yachts sold worldwide. In the market for leisure motor yachts, the company has moved into the top 10 suppliers worldwide

Runde: “The market outlook remains very positive. We have a strong substance and a lot of potential and want to use this environment to grow and build up further development and production capacities, among other things.”

The 2024 Marine Electronics Conference & Expo, held by the National Marine Electronics Association, (NMEA) took place September 16 to the 20th in Providence, Rhode Island. Boating Industry Canada was there for the first time and we were very impressed with what we found.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
