Dometic DG3 Gyrostabilizer named a finalist in the Fast Company 2025 Innovation by Design Awards

October 7, 2025

Dometic is proud to announce that Dometic DG3 gyroscopic stabilizer has been named a finalist in the Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards for 2025 in the Transportation Design category.

Now in its 14th year, the Innovation by Design Awards celebrate the designers and businesses addressing today’s most urgent challenges while anticipating the problems of tomorrow. The program is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the industry, spotlighting work that exemplifies originality, beauty, sustainability, user insight, cultural significance, and measurable business impact.

The Dometic DG3 is a new, fully electric, all-electric gyroscopic stabilizer for boats, offering faster spin-up/down times, reduced power draw, and less maintenance thanks to its innovative electric actuator technology.

“The DG3 gyrostabilizer represents a significant leap forward in marine motion control,” said Eric Fetchko, President of Dometic Marine. “By leveraging our proprietary Inverted Roller Screw technology, we’ve engineered a compact, high-torque solution that delivers exceptional roll reduction without compromising vessel design or performance. Recognition from Fast Company underscores the innovation behind our approach—and validates the impact this technology will have on next-generation boat handling systems.”

Honorees were selected by a panel of leading designers, business executives from leading organizations, and Fast Company editors.

“The Innovation by Design Awards celebrate bold ideas and work that proves design is a true driver of business and societal progress. This year’s honorees show how creative thinking can unlock new markets, build stronger organizations, and deliver meaningful impact at scale,” said Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company.
