Dometic Corporation has announced that it has discontinued the Oceanair branding formerly used for its extensive window coverings business. Effective immediately, the business unit will operate under the Dometic Marine Blinds nameplate.

Announced as part of a larger initiative to grow the market footprint for its window coverings business, the Dometic branding “will open up the opportunities for the former Oceanair products with much broader audiences,” said Dometic Group chief marketing officer, Peter Kjellberg. “Dometic has a strong presence in the marine market and with our extensive expertise in RV and hotel business, we are determined to bring Oceanair’s superior designs to new markets, new customers and new applications.”

Those new applications for the marine-designed product could extend to include RVs, cruise ships, and boutique hotels, he said.

About half of the products within Dometic’s existing window coverings portfolio are offered with automation options that lend themselves to broader market applications, said Kjellberg, including a diverse range of window blinds, door blinds and hatch coverings.
