Jean Kirkland

Aug 31, 2021

Boating Ontario reported the sad news of Jean Kirkland’s passing on Friday, August 20th, 2021 by way of cancer. Jean and her husband of 38 years, Russell Christensen, operated Almanera En El Rio Marina and Campground, a Boating Ontario member facility located in Spanish, Ontario.

The following tribute is from the posted obituary and truly describes Jean; “Jean will be remembered for her love of her foster children, dancing and her cabin in the hills of New Denmark, NB., long ATV Trips and the only grandma in the world who still loved snow tubing in her 70’s. Her Strength and uncompromising selfhood will forever hold us in awe.”

In lieu of flowers, donations made to St Joseph Hospital in Elliot Lake are greatly appreciated for the incredible compassion and care that they showed her during such a difficult time.
