EVINRUDE RECOGNIZED WITH INDUSTRY AWARD FOR PRODUCT INNOVATION

Evinrude Product Award

Oct 8, 2019

Evinrude has announced that it has been awarded the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award in the Outboard Engine category at the 2019 International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX).

The Innovation Awards program, organized by the NMMA and judged by Boating Writers International (BWI), recognizes exceptionally innovative new consumer marine products that best meet the criteria of, “Having innovative distinction from other products currently manufactured in the marine industry; providing benefit to the marine industry and/or consumer; providing practicality of use; and are cost-effective.”

The new Evinrude E-TEC G2 lineup is designed to enhance the complete boating experience. No other manufacturer offers a 115 H.O. with the power and features of the new E-TEC G2. The new Evinrude E-TEC G2 115 H.O. models house a direct injection inline three-cylinder powerhead, that offers more torque and fuel efficiency at lower RPMs than comparable four-stroke engines. The new E-TEC G2 model gives boaters extended cruising capabilities and more power whenever it’s needed, with a refined running quality and quiet operation. In addition to the thrilling performance, all E-TEC G2 engines are worldwide emissions compliant and have the most user-friendly ownership experience with no break-in period, no dealer-scheduled maintenance for five-years or 500 hours, five-year factory backed service coverage and no engine oil changes, ever.

Evinrude now packs next-generation technology such as digital shift and throttle, the iTrim control system, digital instrumentation, custom color panels and optional iSteer dynamic power steering into a 115 H.O. In addition, the 115 H.O. is available with a tiller option that features touch troll and trim switches, LED’s for basic diagnostics and an NMEA 2000 connection for integration with external gauges and accessories.

“Being honored with the IBEX Innovation Award was great news for Evinrude and all of the BRP Marine Group,” said Tracy Crocker, president of the BRP Marine Group. “Innovation in this industry comes with an investment in time and resources. To be recognized by the industry for our technology and how it performs is really a great accomplishment for everyone in our organization. Our entire team is very proud of the work that we do and we are truly grateful to the judges for the acceptance the E-TEC G2 115 H.O. has received.”
